The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) – German Sustainable Building Council – is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization based in Stuttgart, Germany.  Its mission is to develop and promote ways and solutions for sustainable design, construction and use of buildings.

It counts among its members all participants in property development projects.  Members include developers, architects, engineers, construction companies, contractors, investors, operators, utilities, members of the public sector, NGOs and representatives from science and testing institutes.

The DGNB focuses on the establishment and expansion of a certification system for sustainable buildings and the awarding of a sustainable building seal of approval.
