Global Forest Watch (GFW) is an open-source web application that provides data and tools for monitoring global forests in near real-time.  The initiative of the World Resources Institute allows anyone to see where and how forests are changing around the world.

GFW data is accessed daily by governments, companies, civil society organizations, and others who care about their forests.  It helps them apply the data and technology to improve global forest management.

It is used to monitor and manage forests, stop illegal deforestation and fires, call out unsustainable activities, protect land and resources, sustainably source commodities, and conduct conservation research.
